Welcome Equine Enthusiasts

    There are two kinds of horse people in this world, ones who are living their dreams and the ones who aren't. I used to be frustrated, humiliated and aggravated with horses and almost gave up on my dreams of becoming a great horsewoman. One day I attended a Parelli Natural Horse-man-ship© Tour  Stop in Fletcher, NC, my life was never the same. I was fourteen when I attended that tour stop, and now a couple of years later I am living my dreams and have a bright future ahead of me.

    I am now an official Level 3 Graduate of the Parelli Program and playing in Level 4 & 5 with two of my horses that I plan to take to Florida and Colorado as a Parelli Instructor. I am currently studying to become a Parelli Professional, my life long goal is to become a 5 star Parelli instructor. I want to become a Professional so I can help other people live their dreams, and make the world a better place for horses and humans. I have provided a list of my goals in "My Dreams" where you can see the process in which I plan to get there, to follow my every day journey please visit my blog.

    I have my own facilities, thanks to hard work and support of family and friends. I currently teach horsemanship and horseback riding lessons and board horses when friends need a place to keep their partners.     "I've been taking horseback riding lessons from Mariah Helms for about six months now.  I had previously taken lessons from someone else, but it was a group lesson, and I didn't feel I was getting enough instruction during the lesson.  Mariah gives me a private lesson at a very reasonable rate, and I feel like I've made a lot of progress.  She listens to my concerns and dreams and then tailors the lessons to address them.  Her barn and arena are in such a peaceful setting that just being there is a pleasure.  I appreciate her approach in the lessons as well.  She teaches you how to understand the horse and build a trusting, compassionate relationship with the horse.  Safety is very important to her, and therefore I feel comfortable with what she asks me to do in my lessons.  I am looking forward to many more lessons with Mariah and my lesson horse!"
